New 'True Blood' Vampire Baddie? 'Law & Order' Star Christopher Meloni in Talks
by Andy NeuenschwanderThe details about the new roles on season five of "True Blood" continue to roll in. This time, we might have a new big bad guy for the season!
"Law & Order: SVU" star Christopher Meloni is in talks with HBO to join "True Blood" in a role that might end up being a lot less heroic than the one he plays on "SVU." Meloni is in talks to play an "incredibly powerful vampire," which usually spells out "bad guy" for this show.
Meloni is an actor with varied credits who could potentially fit into the part-drama, part-camp style of "True Blood" very nicely. In addition to his "SVU" role, Meloni has appeared in "NYPD Blue" and comedies like the first two "Harold & Kumar" movies. Fans of "Wet Hot American Summer" will recognize Meloni as the camp cook, Gene (a performance for the ages).
This is just one bit of a slew of casting news for "True Blood" as of late. Recently, we also learned about some werewolf roles that should be filling out soon. Looks like the good guys in Bon Temps are going to have their hands full.
